Peptide Therapy FAQs: What You Need to Know

Considering peptide therapy but have questions? Explore answers about treatment options, medical eligibility, safety, injections and medically supervised weight management. At The Hydro Hero, our peptide services begin with a consultation and a medical review to help determine which treatments, if any, may be appropriate for you.

What Are Peptides?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as messengers in your body. They help direct processes like tissue repair, inflammation, metabolism, sleep and hormone signaling. Peptide therapy uses specific peptides to support those natural processes.

What Can Peptide Therapy Help With?

Our peptide program supports goals like weight management, recovery from training or injury, gut health, sleep, focus and stress, skin and hair, and healthy aging. Your plan is built around your goals and health history.

Are Peptides FDA-Approved?

Most peptides used in wellness care are compounded by licensed pharmacies and are not FDA-approved drugs. They may differ in risks and benefits from FDA-approved products. That's why every peptide we offer requires a consultation and a prescription from our Medical Director, and is filled by a licensed pharmacy.

How Do I Get Started With Peptides?

Book a Peptide consultation. You'll complete a health history and screening, our Medical Director reviews your goals and prescribes the right plan, and your peptides ship directly to you from a licensed pharmacy. We check-in along the way.

Do I Have To Give Myself Injections?

Most peptides are small injections just under the skin, similar to an insulin pen. We teach you exactly how to do it at your first visit, and some options come as oral or topical forms.

How Long Until I See Results?

It depends on the peptide and your goals. Some people notice changes in sleep or energy within a couple weeks, while recovery, body composition and skin changes usually take on to three months of consistent use.

Who Should NOT Use Peptides?

Peptides are for adults 18 years of age and older. They are not for anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding, and certain peptides are not appropriate for people with a current or past cancer diagnosis, some autoimmune conditions or certain thyroid conditions. Your screening and the Medical Director review cover all of this.

Do You Offer GLP-1 Weight Loss Medications?

Yes. We offer medically supervised weight management that may include GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide or tirzepatide when appropriate. Eligibility is determined by our Medical Director after your screening.
